I'm very impatient when it comes to my writing, so often press publish too soon. I've started sitting on pieces for longer before putting them live, and it's made such a difference
I think this post answered my question. My edit copy has indentations as I'd like to see them in the published piece but do not show correctly on my published copy. Should I not indent for publishing? I see none in this post and that's fine. So long as my paragraphs are intact, I can live without indentations. Perhaps that's a thing of the past? I don't know; I'm relatively new.
Thanks for reading Kris. Great question about indentations. I dont use it and I dont see many who do but I think you can. Create what is called a "Poetry Block" in your post and then substack will retain the original spacing. I use it for poetry or prose poetry but haven't specifically used it for indentations. But you should try it out. Come over to my Chat threads and I can show you how. Cheers!
It was fun and interesting to read everyone's thoughts and preferences on editing. At some point, we do have to just let go and hope we've caught everything. I've gone back into stories years later and discovered missing or misused words. It's never ending!
I do use Grammarly (very loosely). Sometimes it's too proper for my casual writing style. But sometimes it catches me using the same words over and over again and I appreciate it.
Each writer's journey towards achieving their version of perfection is unique yet they are often relatable.

I write and give it a day before posting because I always seem to feel unhappy with it immediately after I'm done writing.
I feel the same way... Only I've usually already hit send by then. Working on it, haha
Thank you!

You are so quick to read that I barely finished editing it 10 times after publishing :)
I am ready to let this go now :) maybe.
LOL!! I just happened to be sitting in Notes when your post popped up there.
PS: I didn't spot any glaring edits that needed to be done!
